Job summary

Primal Impact Sdn Bhd invites applications for an Internship – Operations & Procurement (Oil & Gas) based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This contract internship offers hands-on experience in sourcing, vendor relations, and logistics within the energy sector.

You will work with operations and procurement teams, gaining insights into inventory control, PO preparation, and cost analysis while developing practical skills for future roles in supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with procurement software or willingness to learn; SMART GEP is a strong plus.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with vendor engagement ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the procurement team in sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers for materials, equipment, and services required for oil and gas operations
• Assist in preparing purchase orders, quotations, and procurement documentation whilst ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Maintain and update inventory records, tracking stock levels, and identifying requirements to support operational needs
• Help coordinate with operational teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites
• Support vendor management activities, including vendor communication, performance tracking, and contract administration
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and competitive pricing for goods and services
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to procurement activities and inventory management
• Support the organising of logistics and warehousing operations to optimise efficiency and reduce waste
• Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives within operations and procurement

About the role

What we're looking for

• Strong communication and analytical skills, with the confidence to engage and negotiate with external vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
