Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated Intern (3 to 6 months) to join our project team. This internship offers hands‑on experience in sourcing, purchasing and supplier management for engineering projects.

You’ll work closely with order management and project teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials and services. You will learn procurement best practices, draft vendor comparisons, issue purchase orders in SAP HANA, and help ensure timely, cost‑effective

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP HANA systems and procurement software.
• Basic understanding of contract management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers to meet project requirements and budget constraints.
• Draft vendor comparison tables in accordance with company procurement policies.
• Support issuance of purchase orders and contracts in SAP HANA.
• Maintain records of purchase orders and categorize by WBS elements.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand material specs and timelines.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and trends.
• Participate in supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms.
• Maintain procurement records and monitor inventory levels.
• Support compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
• Assist with NDAs, KYP processes and vendor registrations.
• Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists and delivery notes.

Role overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern (3 to 6 months) to join our project team. This internship offers hands‑on experience in sourcing, purchasing and supplier management for engineering projects. You’ll work closely with order management and project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting in sourcing and evaluating suppliers to meet project requirements and budget constraints
• Drafting vendor comparison tables in accordance with company procurement policies
• Supporting the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and contracts in SAP HANA
• Maintaining records and registers of all issued purchase orders, categorising them by WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) elements and filing them in the appropriate server folders
• Collaborating with project teams to understand material specifications and project timelines
• Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and track industry trends
• Participating in supplier negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions
• Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels
• Monitoring supplier performance and addressing delivery or quality-related issues
• Supporting compliance with company procurement policies and standards
• Reviewing external vendor invoices and following up on supporting documentation to ensure audit compliance
• Supporting the processing of goods receipts for all vendors
• Supporting procurement processes, including drafting NDAs, managing KYP processes and registering new vendors
• Supporting the preparation of commercial invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes

Who we’re looking for:

• Students pursuing a Higher Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Familiarity with ERP/ SAP HANA 4 systems and procurement software
• Basic understanding of contract management and negotiation principles
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance
