Internship for Human Resources (Malaysian Students Only)
An internship for Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond train office will involve supporting the administrative and operational backbone of a high‑end rail service. The role will provide hands‑on experience in human resources and finance within the dynamic and specialized environment of luxury train operations. The intern will support both departments, learning about talent management, employee relations, financial planning and accounting practices tailored to a premium service industry.
Key Responsibilities may include:
1. Recruitment and Onboarding Support:
- Assisting with job postings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews for various roles (e.g., chefs, stewards, engineers, customer service representatives).
- Preparing onboarding materials and coordinating new hire paperwork.
- Supporting the orientation process for new employees, ensuring a welcoming and informative start.
2. Employee Relations and Support:
- Assisting in maintaining employee records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Supporting HR initiatives related to employee engagement, training, and development.
- Helping to coordinate employee benefits information and inquiries.
- Assisting with general employee communications and HR‑related queries.
3. Policy and Compliance Assistance:
- Familiarizing with and assisting in the application of company HR policies and procedures.
- Supporting compliance efforts related to labor laws and industry regulations.
4. HR Administration:
- Performing general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and preparing HR‑related correspondence.
- Assisting in organizing HR events or training sessions.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with HRIS software is a plus.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- A genuine interest in the luxury travel or railway industry is advantageous.
