Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a civil/structural engineering program or recently graduated.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction fundamentals.
• Willingness to follow health and safety protocols and learn on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist site engineers and project managers with daily construction site inspections and monitoring
• Support the preparation and review of construction drawings and technical documentation
• Conduct material testing and quality control checks in accordance with project specifications
• Help document project progress through site surveys, measurements and photographic records
• Assist in the preparation of daily reports and construction records
• Support safety compliance activities and participate in health and safety briefings
• Learn and apply relevant building codes, standards and construction best practices
• Contribute to problem‑solving on site challenges under the guidance of senior staff

Internship for Engineering Students- Construction Project

About the role

China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking enthusiastic engineering students for an internship position focused on construction projects. This is a casual internship role based in Kempas, Johor, offering valuable hands‑on experience in civil and structural engineering.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals on active construction projects, gaining practical knowledge in site management, structural design principles, and construction methodologies.

This internship is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real‑world engineering practice, providing you with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully whilst developing industry‑relevant skills.

Key responsibilities

What we’re looking for

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a civil engineering, structural engineering or related engineering programme

Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction fundamentals and structural design concepts

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications accurately

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Physical ability to work on construction sites, including standing for extended periods and working in outdoor conditions

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; CAD software experience is advantageous

Keen interest in learning practical construction management and site engineering practices

Willingness to follow strict health and safety protocols on site
