Job summary

Infinite Minds Academy in Selangor, Petaling Jaya is seeking a supportive Therapy Assistant to work with children with special needs. You will assist in ABA and EIP-based interventions, helping develop communication, social, behavioural, cognitive, and daily living skills.

You will collaborate with therapists, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team, prepare therapy materials, and maintain accurate session records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, special education, early childhood, behavioral science, or related field.
• Exposure to ABA or EIP practices is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children with special needs.
• Intern or fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Job description

• Assist in implementing individualized intervention programmes based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Early Intervention Programme (EIP) principles.
• Assist in conducting small group therapy sessions to support the development of communication, social, behavioural, cognitive, and daily living skills.
• Monitor and record student progress regularly, ensuring therapy goals are being met and programmes are adjusted when necessary.
• Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and the multidisciplinary team to plan and implement effective intervention strategies.
• Assist in preparing therapy materials and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and session records.
• Assist in neurofeedback training sessions, a non-invasive brain training therapy that helps improve attention, emotional regulation, and cognitive performance. (Training will be provided).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood, Behavioral Science, or any related field.
• Basic understanding or exposure to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Early Intervention Programme (EIP) practices is an advantage.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with special needs and their developmental progress.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

• Familiarity with AAC tools (e.g., Proloquo2Go, TouchChat HD).
