Datakids ABA Therapy Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Setia Tropika Johor location. In this role, you will provide evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental conditions. As an ABA Therapist, you will be instrumental in helping children develop essential life skills, improve social interactions, and reduce challenging behaviours through structured, individualised treatment programmes. This position is critical to our clinic's mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate therapeutic services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families.
Implement individualised ABA treatment plans developed by supervising Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs), ensuring consistency and fidelity in programme delivery
Conduct direct one-on-one and group therapy sessions with children, utilising evidence-based ABA techniques and interventions tailored to each client's specific needs and goals
Collect and record detailed observational data on client behaviour, progress and programme effectiveness during and after therapy sessions
Monitor and reinforce appropriate behaviours whilst implementing strategies to address challenging or maladaptive behaviours in a safe and supportive manner
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, providing updates on their child's progress, sharing strategies for home implementation, and gathering feedback to inform ongoing treatment
Collaborate with the clinical team, including BCBAs and other therapists, to review progress data and contribute to treatment planning discussions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sessions, including session notes, progress tracking and any incidents or observations
Participate in ongoing professional development, training and supervision to enhance therapeutic skills and stay current with best practices in ABA
Ensure a safe, clean and organised therapy environment that is conducive to learning and development
Demonstrate professionalism, empathy and patience in all interactions with clients, families and colleagues
Minimum of 1-2 years of direct experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental conditions, preferably in an ABA therapy setting
Strong understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis principles, techniques and terminology, including positive reinforcement, data collection and behaviour modification strategies
Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify and record subtle changes in behaviour and progress
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly document observations and discuss progress with families and clinical staff
Patience, empathy and genuine compassion for children with developmental differences and their families
Ability to remain calm, patient and professional when working with children displaying challenging behaviours
Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail in documentation and data recording
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team under clinical supervision
Flexibility and adaptability in responding to individual client needs and changes in treatment plans
A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to ethical standards in therapeutic practice
Proficiency in English; fluency in Malay or other local languages is advantageous
A valid driving licence and reliable transportation to the Setia Tropika Johor location
