Job summary

Southern Medical Group in Johor Bahru seeks an experienced Interior Designer to develop concepts, prepare drawings, and manage projects from brief to completion. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers, producing 2D/3D visualisations and construction drawings.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and a strong portfolio. Travel to project sites may be needed; own transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in interior design or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant interior design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; 3D rendering knowledge is a plus.
• Strong space planning, materials, and fit-out understanding.
• Ability to prepare technical and construction drawings independently.
• Good design sense, detail orientation and problem solving.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; client and supplier liaison.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Portfolio highly preferred; own transport and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts based on client brief and budget.
• Prepare space planning, layout plans, mood boards, materials, and design proposals.
• Create 2D drawings, elevations, detailed and construction drawings.
• Produce 3D modelling, rendering and visual presentations.
• Present concepts to clients and revise per feedback.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal team.
• Conduct site visits to ensure design implementation aligns with drawings.
• Select materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures per concept.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and delivered on time.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve design or technical issues.
• Manage multiple projects to meet schedules and keep up with trends.

• Present design concepts and proposals to clients and make revisions based on feedback.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal team throughout the project.
• Conduct site visits and follow up on site progress to ensure the design is implemented according to drawings and specifications.
• Select suitable materials, finishes, furniture and fixtures according to the design concept and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings, design details and project documentation are accurate and completed within the required timeline.
• Coordinate with contractors and resolve design or technical issues during project execution.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure deliverables are completed according to project schedule.
• Keep updated with current interior design trends, materials and industry practices.
