Job summary

VMDG Design Sdn Bhd, a leading commercial interior design and project management firm in the Asia Pacific region, is seeking a Commercial Executive (Quantity Surveyor) at an intermediate/Junior level to manage cost control, tendering, and procurement on interior design projects.

You will oversee contractual administration, prepare costing, handle variation orders, and coordinate with suppliers and sub-contractors, with an independent work style and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design projects.
• Knowledge of building contracts and cost control.
• Strong planning, interpersonal, communication, organization and negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; local dialects a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage value for money and cost saving for interior design and tender projects while maintaining standards.
• Oversee financial contract administration throughout the project.
• Responsible for procurement for awarded projects.
• Take-off, tendering, prepare preliminary costing and budgetary control with minimal supervision.
• Obtain quotations, liaise and negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Prepare work-orders to sub-contractors and handle variation orders.
• Prepare monthly progress claims to clients.
• Other QS duties as assigned by superiors.
