Job summary

UPV Asset Management Sdn Bhd invites an experienced Interior Designer to lead office/commercial interior design projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will develop efficient workspace layouts, select furniture and finishes, and prepare design proposals for client discussions.

Responsibilities include creating technical drawings, 3D visualizations, coordinating with clients, contractors and suppliers, and ensuring designs meet regulations, budgets, and schedules while delivering high-quality spaces.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in interior design, architecture or related field required.
• 5 years of relevant experience in office/commercial interior design preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3DMax, Enscape or similar software.
• Strong space planning, design and technical drawing skills.
• Creative, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Mandarin language preferred for serving Mandarin-speaking customers.
• Portfolio showcasing office/commercial interior projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Office Space Design & Space Planning: Develop layouts for workstations, meeting rooms, offices and common areas; create design proposals for client discussion; maximize space utilization and functionality; select furniture and finishes.
• Design Development & Technical Drawings: Prepare drawings, construction documents, mood boards and 3D visualizations; develop concepts and presentations; specify materials and cost estimates; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Project Coordination & Execution: Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers; conduct site measurements and inspections; monitor schedules and budgets; assist procurement and resolve site-related issues.

• Develop efficient and functional workplace layouts, including workstations, meeting rooms, private offices, reception areas, pantry areas, collaboration spaces, breakout areas, and other office facilities.
• Prepare space planning options and design proposals for client presentation and discussion.
• Ensure office layouts maximize space utilization, functionality, employee experience, and workflow efficiency.
• Develop furniture selections, and interior finishes suitable for office environments.

2. Design Development & Technical Drawings

• Prepare design drawings, detailed construction drawings, mood boards, and 3D visualizations.
• Develop space planning concepts and design presentations based on client requirements.
• Prepare design specifications, material selections, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with building regulations, safety standards, and project requirements.

3. Project Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site measurements, inspections, and monitor project progress.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
• Support procurement activities, material sourcing, and vendor coordination.
• Assist in resolving design and site-related issues during project implementation.
