Job summary

Vsconsultancy is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse to join our healthcare team in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This full-time role offers exposure to a dynamic critical care environment where your expertise directly impacts patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of ICU/critical care experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and proficiency with ICU equipment. English fluency is essential, and certification in BLS or ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous monitoring and assessment of critically ill patients, recording vital signs and detecting changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosing and patient safety
• Operate and manage complex medical equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors and infusion pumps
• Perform wound care, catheter management and other clinical procedures as required
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care and optimal treatment outcomes
• Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families during critical illness
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Assist with admission and discharge procedures, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, demonstrating critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Contribute to a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills

What we're looking for

Registered Nurse qualification or equivalent nursing degree recognised by relevant regulatory bodies

A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working in an intensive care, critical care or similar acute clinical environment

Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing principles, practices and procedures

Proficiency in the operation and management of intensive care equipment and monitoring systems

Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patient conditions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and patient safety

Emotional resilience and the capacity to provide compassionate care in a high-stress environment

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics and standards

Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred

Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are advantageous
