Job summary

Bank Negara Malaysia invites applications for the Associate Supervisor role in the Insurance and Takaful Supervision Department in Kuala Lumpur. You will supervise insurers, takaful operators, reinsurers, and related financial groups to uphold a safe and stable financial system.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you will monitor risk, enforce regulatory requirements, and coordinate with domestic regulators to strengthen supervisory methodologies and climate risk practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or professional qualifications in actuarial science, insurance/risk management, accounting, economics, banking, finance, business studies, commerce or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience. Experience in financial sector, auditing, or risk management is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and execute the supervision of assigned insurers, takaful operators, reinsurers and related financial groups.
• Administer regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with FSA 2013, IFSA 2013, and Bank directives.
• Identify material risks and vulnerabilities within FIs early and initiate remedial actions.
• Escalate supervisory concerns and propose intervention measures to be imposed on FIs.
• Assess applications from FIs for compliance and provide timely recommendations to Management.
• Maintain collaboration with internal and external regulators and exchange best practices.
• Undertake administrative functions and ad-hoc assignments as required.
• Pursue self-development to achieve corporate and personal goals.
