Job summary

Etiqa Insurance and Takaful is seeking a data analytics leader to drive end-to-end analytical projects within the Medical Analytics team in Kuala Lumpur. You will design dashboards, prepare medical claims data, and translate insights into business actions for cost management and portfolio performance.

The role requires expertise in SQL, data analytics, BI dashboard development, Dataiku or similar platforms, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of dashboards and reports; review and validate outputs from team members; ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.
• Lead extraction and preparation of medical claims data from multiple sources; design efficient data flows and ensure quality across analyses.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of medical claims data, formulate hypotheses, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Design and document rules, thresholds, and segmentation logic that support claims adjudication and operational processes; validate assumptions with subject matter experts.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, clinical partners, and technology teams; translate business needs into analytical requirements and present findings to senior audiences.
• Take ownership of flagship analytics and AI-driven projects; guide model validation, contribute to methodology decisions, and mentor junior analysts on tools and best practices.

The role sits within the Medical Analytics team and is responsible for driving data-driven insights that support Etiqa's medical portfolio. The role involves leading end-to-end analytical projects, developing complex dashboards and reports, defining business rules for claims adjudication, and providing recommendations to internal stakeholders. By taking ownership of analytical deliverables and guiding junior team members, this role supports the business in informing strategic decisions on cost management, claims adjudication, and portfolio performance.

Qualification / Requirement

• Degree in Actuarial / Statistics / Mathematics / Computer Science / Data Science / Information Technology / Economics / Business or other quantitative fields.
• 5 - 6 years of working experience in data & medical analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL, Data Analysis, Business Intelligence Dashboard development (any tools), Dataiku or other data science platforms, and Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• Working knowledge of Python and applied AI/ML concepts is required. Experience in medical or insurance analytics is an added advantage.
