We are looking for an organized and detail‑oriented Instrument Planner to support the planning and preparation of instrumentation maintenance activities. The role will be responsible for developing work scopes, preparing job plans, coordinating manpower, materials, tools, and equipment, and ensuring instrumentation maintenance activities are properly planned and ready for execution.
The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, and contractors to ensure instrumentation maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to planned schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate instrumentation maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, calibration, and turnaround/shutdown maintenance.
- Develop and review instrumentation maintenance work scopes, job plans, work orders, and execution requirements.
- Identify and coordinate required manpower, materials, spare parts, tools, test equipment, and services for planned activities.
- Review instrument history, maintenance records, drawings, datasheets, manuals, and technical information when preparing work plans.
- Prepare job packages, method statements, material requirements, and other supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with Materials and Procurement teams to ensure required spare parts, materials, and services are available before execution.
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to establish work priorities and suitable execution schedules.
- Monitor work order status and ensure planned instrumentation activities are properly prepared and ready for execution.
- Support planning for instrument inspection, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
- Identify potential constraints, risks, and resource requirements and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support turnaround and shutdown planning activities, including scope development, resource planning, and work pack preparation.
- Maintain accurate planning records, schedules, work orders, and instrumentation maintenance documentation.
- Review completed work and ensure relevant maintenance records are updated for future planning.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with HSSE, QA/QC, Company procedures, and applicable requirements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Instrument Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in instrumentation maintenance planning, maintenance operations, or a similar role will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of instrumentation, control systems, calibration, and maintenance practices.
- Experience in work scope development, job planning, work orders, and maintenance scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret instrument drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, equipment manuals, and technical documents.
- Good knowledge of maintenance planning and resource coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with CMMS, ERP, or maintenance management systems will be an advantage.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage multiple work scopes and meet maintenance deadlines.
- Willing to work at operational and project sites when required.
