Job summary

Ocean Vantage Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an organized Instrument Planner to support planning and preparation of instrumentation maintenance activities.

The role develops work scopes, prepares job plans, coordinates manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness for execution. You will work with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient work and adherence to schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrument Engineering is required.
• Experience in instrumentation maintenance planning is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of instrument systems, calibration and maintenance.
• Ability to read instrument drawings, P&IDs and datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate instrumentation maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, calibration, and turnaround/shutdown maintenance.
• Develop and review instrumentation maintenance work scopes, job plans, work orders, and execution requirements.
• Identify and coordinate manpower, materials, spare parts, tools, and services for planned activities.
• Review instrument history, maintenance records, drawings, datasheets, manuals, and technical information.
• Prepare job packages, method statements, material requirements, and other supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Materials and Procurement to ensure required parts are available before execution.
• Liaise with Operations and Maintenance to establish work priorities and schedules.
• Monitor work order status and ensure activities are prepared and ready for execution.
• Support planning for instrument inspection, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Identify constraints, risks and resource requirements and recommend actions.
• Support turnaround/shutdown planning, including scope development and work pack preparation.
• Maintain planning records, schedules and instrumentation maintenance documentation.
• Review completed work and update maintenance records for future planning.
• Ensure planning activities comply with HSSE, QA/QC, and company procedures.
