Job summary
Kemaman Bitumen Company in Malaysia seeks an experienced inspection engineer to plan and oversee refinery-related inspections. You will coordinate with contractors, review technical documentation, and prepare inspection plans and reports to ensure integrity and regulatory compliance.
The role requires qualifications in engineering with refinery/construction exposure, along with PCN/ASNT or CSWIP certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in refinery/ construction/ shutdown activity.
- PCN/ASNT MT/PT/UT or Welding Inspection CSWIP 3.0 certifications or attendance on plant inspection courses.
Responsibilities
- Prepare inspection plan for static equipment, piping, storage tank.
- Review inspection results submitted by contractors and evaluate results/propose integrity enhancement plan.
- Develop inspection requirements / Scheme of examination for dedicated equipment.
- Coordinate inspection activities during turnaround or shutdown.
- Prepare purchase requests for inspection-related activities.
- Review project documents such as procedures, WPS/PQR/WQT, fabrication report, and final documentation.
- Prepare/Review inspection reports including corrosion rate calculations, minimum thickness and remaining life.
- Prepare summaries and notifications of findings including rectification works (based on PM & CRM).
- Assist to coordinate with Authority to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Assist Inspection instructor to review and monitor inspection documents to meet Authority requirements.

Degree in Engineering with min 3 years experiences in Refinery / Construction / Shutdown Activity / Fabrication.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Material Sciences with min 5 years experiences in Refinery / Construction / Shutdown Activity / Fabrication.
PCN / ASNT in MT/PT/UT or Welding Inspection CSWIP 3.0 or Attending any Plant inspection courses.
- Prepare inspection plan for static equipment, piping, storage tank
- Review inspection result that submitted by contractor and evaluate result/propose for integrity enhancement plan to SESM.
- Develop inspection requirement / Scheme of examination for dedicated equipment.
- Coordinate activity related with inspection during T/ Around or shutdown.
- Prepare purchase request for activity related with inspection.
- Review document for project such as procedure, WPS/PQR/WQT, fabrication report, final documentation.
- Prepare / Review inspection report such as calculation of Corrosion Rate, t min & remaining life
- Prepare summary and notification of finding including rectification works. (Based on PM & CRM)
- Assist to coordinate with Authority to acquire any concern law and regulation.
- Assist Inspection instructor to review and monitor Inspection document to comply with Authority requirement.
