Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks an experienced injection molding professional to oversee process control and cycle-time management across high-volume productions. You will monitor and adjust process parameters, perform mold maintenance, and ensure traceability using SHOTSCOPE within ISO/GMP guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of direct injection molding experience, strong material knowledge, and hands-on capability to improve cycle times without sacrificing quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical/industrial/material/manufacturing fields.
• Hands-on experience with injection molding processes and machinery (3-5 years).
• Knowledge of plastics properties and how they interact with injection molding.
• Experience maintaining process parameters within specified tolerances.
• Experience using SPC tools to monitor trends and prevent deviations.
• Ability to implement parameter locking to ensure consistent settings.
• Familiarity with cycle-time management and mold cooling improvements.
• Conduct mold maintenance and preventive maintenance routines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain process parameters (temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time) within tolerances.
• Monitor trends in SHOTSCOPE and investigate deviations beyond ±2%.
• Optimize cycle time through mold cooling, gate design, and machine settings without compromising quality.
• Maintain mold history cards and update SHOTSCOPE for traceability.
• Ensure ISO/GMP compliance for hygiene and traceability; escalate non-conformances.

• Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Process, Project Management.
• Hands-on experience: At least 3-5 years of direct experience with injection moulding processes and machinery.
• Material Knowledge: Understanding the properties and behaviors of various plastics and how they interact with injection molding processes.
• Process Control
• Maintain all process parameters (temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time) within specified tolerances as per product and machine specifications.
• Use SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools in SHOTSCOPE to monitor trends and prevent deviations.
• Implement parameter locking to avoid unauthorized changes and ensure consistency.
• Cycle Time Management
• Define target cycle time per product and mold based on machine capability and material properties.
• Continuously monitor actual vs target cycle time in SHOTSCOPE; investigate deviations > ±2%.
• Optimize cycle time through mold cooling improvements, gate design, and machine settings without compromising quality.
• Mold Maintenance Frequency
• Daily: Visual inspection for wear, leaks, and contamination.
• Weekly: Clean mold surfaces, check cooling channels, lubricate moving parts.
• Monthly: Inspect ejector pins, bushings, and alignment; verify mold temperature control.
• Quarterly: Full preventive maintenance—polishing, dimensional checks, and replacement of worn components.
• Maintain mold history cards and update Shotscope for traceability.
• Quality Assurance
• Conduct in-process inspections for dimensional accuracy, weight, and visual defects (flash, short shots, sink marks).
• Implement ISO/GMP compliance for hygiene and traceability.
• Escalate any non-conformance immediately and initiate corrective action.
