Job summary

ITMAX SYSTEM BERHAD is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to manage and secure core infrastructure including physical/virtual servers, networks, and cloud environments. You will ensure high availability, scale, and security across systems to support business growth.

Responsibilities include server administration, network and switch management, cloud optimization, patching, DR testing, monitoring, and thorough documentation. Strong collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, network engineering, and cloud management.
• Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hands-on with managed switches (Cisco, HP, Aruba).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Certifications (Advantageous): CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate.

Job Description

Position Objective:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure Engineer (Infra 1) to manage, optimize, and secure our core technology infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of our physical and virtual servers, network switches, and cloud environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security across all systems to support our growing business needs.

Key Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Server Administration: Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical servers and virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V). Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime.

Network & Switch Management: Configure, deploy, and manage managed switches, VLANs, routing, and firewalls to ensure optimal network performance, segmentation, and security.

Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and optimize cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), including cloud storage, compute instances, backups, and cost-optimization strategies.

System Maintenance & Security: Execute routine patch management, system upgrades, and firmware updates across servers and network hardware. Implement security best practices to safeguard infrastructure.

Backup & Disaster Recovery: Manage data backup systems and replication strategies. Regularly test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

Monitoring & Incident Response: Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify bottlenecks or failures. Provide Level 2/3 technical support to resolve complex infrastructure incidents.

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of network topology, server configurations, asset inventories, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, network engineering, and cloud management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.

Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hands-on experience with managed switches (Cisco, HP, Aruba, etc.).

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V).

Hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred).
