Job summary

Larian Studios in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to join the on-site team and help maintain resilient systems as we expand our game projects.

You will monitor health and performance, support CI/CD workflows, and coordinate with the global IT team to keep Linux and Windows servers running smoothly. The role requires flexibility for upgrades and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Linux and Windows servers.
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware trends and laptop support.
• Familiarity with endpoint management, productivity apps and collaboration tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and private cloud/virtualized infrastructure.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN).

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance and availability of infrastructure and services; respond to alerts.
• Investigate recurring issues; identify root causes and improve reliability.
• Support development teams with infrastructure, VCS, build and deployment workflows.
• Maintain Linux/Windows servers and virtualized infrastructure.
• Perform planned maintenance: patches, updates, backups; minimise disruption.
• Create scripts/automation to reduce manual work.
• Coordinate with network, security and other infrastructure teams.
• Maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialist support.
• Maintain local studio infrastructure and coordinate with global IT.
• Participate in incident response and after-hours work when needed.
• Assist with user support, onboarding, offboarding and asset management.

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health, performance and availability of infrastructure and services, and respond to alerts and incidents
• Investigate recurring issues, identify their root causes and implement improvements to service reliability
• Support development teams with infrastructure issues, including version control, build and deployment workflows.
• Maintain Linux and Windows servers, virtualised infrastructure and related services
• Perform planned maintenance, including patching, updates and backup checks, while minimising disruption
• Create scripts and automation to improve routine operations and reduce manual work
• Support the network, security and other infrastructure teams with troubleshooting and changes
• Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, changes and operating procedures
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers when specialist support is required
• Maintain local studio infrastructure, including server rooms, and coordinate site changes with the global IT team and studio management
• Participate in incident response and planned work outside normal hours when required
• Assist with user support, onboarding, offboarding and asset management where local support is needed

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems, including both servers and endpoints
• Advanced knowledge of PC and laptop support, combined with a strong awareness of current hardware trends and innovations.
• Familiarity with endpoint management, productivity platforms and collaboration tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tools
  Familiarity with private cloud and virtualized infrastructure
• Experience with Google Workplace, Office365, Atlassian Suite
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LANs, WANs, VPNs and VLANs
• Ability to work flexible hours around IT infrastructure upgrades and migrations
• This is a full-time, on-site role, requiring your presence in the office to support teams collaboration

Nice to Haves

• Experience administering server hardware
• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management
• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration
• Experience with version control systems
• Familiarity with storage systems and backup technologies
