Industrial Engineer - Factory & Production Planning
About the Role
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer - Factory & Production Planning to support factory layout planning, capacity expansion, production area optimization, and new plant or production line projects. The role will work closely with Production, Engineering, Facility, EHS, Logistics, and other stakeholders to ensure factory planning solutions are practical, efficient, compliant, and aligned with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall factory and industrial park planning, including functional zoning, building layout, road access, logistics flow, and supporting infrastructure based on production requirements and land planning conditions.
- Plan and optimize production areas, warehouse areas, logistics routes, auxiliary facilities, and other functional spaces based on production processes, capacity requirements, and operational needs.
- Support new factory construction, factory expansion, capacity expansion, and production layout adjustment projects.
- Coordinate with design consultants and relevant technical teams to review drawings and support site surveys, feasibility studies, planning submissions, and approval processes where required.
- Work with relevant departments to define factory and building requirements, including production space, utilities, fire protection, hazardous waste areas, and other supporting facilities.
- Follow up on the implementation of factory and production layout plans during project execution and construction stages, and continuously optimize layouts based on actual operational requirements.
- Improve space utilization, production flow, logistics efficiency, and resource allocation through layout and planning optimization.
- Maintain planning drawings, project records, approval documents, and other related planning documentation.
- Prepare and present planning proposals, and coordinate requirements across Production, Engineering, Facility, EHS, Logistics, Project, and other relevant functions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to factory layout, production capacity, space utilization, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- At least 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, Factory Planning, Capacity Planning, Production Layout, or related manufacturing functions.
- Candidates with a Production IE background are welcome to apply, especially those with experience in production layout, line expansion, capacity planning, new line setup, or factory expansion projects.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, capacity, space utilization, logistics flow, and resource planning.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant layout/design software, with the ability to read and prepare layout drawings.
- Experience in new factory construction, plant expansion, greenfield/brownfield projects, or industrial facility planning will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify planning issues and propose practical improvement solutions.
- Good cost and resource utilization awareness, with the ability to balance operational requirements, efficiency, and investment considerations.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and project timelines effectively.
