British American Tobacco DBS in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking an Indirect Sourcing Executive to lead end-to-end sourcing for indirect categories across GTR & China. You will collaborate with Procurement, business stakeholders and budget holders to meet business needs, drive cost savings and value creation, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

Ideally you have 3–5 years of sourcing experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence across functions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in planning, organizing and delivering end-to-end sourcing activities.
• Hands-on experience in supplier negotiations and contract placement.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, governance and cost drivers.
• Fluent English with Malay or Bahasa a plus; customer-focused and collaborative.

Procurement is a global line organisation that delivers direct and indirect procurement to the commercial team. The Procurement organisation design sets a clear delineation between the development of procurement strategy (Global) and the execution of it (either Global or local).

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for indirect categories across GTR & China.
• Serve as the key liaison between Procurement, business stakeholders, and budget holders to ensure business needs are met.
• Drive cost savings, value creation, and efficient spend management (up to £25M annual spend).
• Lead sourcing projects, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and procurement strategy execution. Build and maintain strong partner and supplier relationships across multiple markets.
• Ensure compliance with BAT procurement policies, ESG requirements, and local regulations.
• Supervise supplier performance, handle procurement risks, and ensure continuity of supply. Drive continuous improvement, process efficiencies, supplier-led innovation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Analyze market and financial data to support sourcing decisions and deliver procurement objectives.
• Support Travel Retail markets globally and China, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Legal, Global Category Managers, and Business Leaders.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience of 3-5 years in planning, organizing, and delivering end-to-end sourcing activities.
• Shown ability to handle procurement projects and drive category and sourcing strategies at the market level. Hands-on experience in supplier negotiations, commercial discussions, and contract placement.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, systems, platforms, and governance policies. Strong financial competence capable of analyzing cost drivers and assessing business impact.
• Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions. Knowledge of corporate regulations and local legislation related to commercial contracting.
• native-level English communication skills along with Malay or Bahasa would be an add-on
• Customer-focused approach capable of proactively understanding and handling business requirements.
• Track record of delivering sourcing outcomes within agreed timelines, service levels, and compliance standards. Strong organizational and planning skills to drive efficiencies and build value through procurement activities.
• Ability to ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and contractual standards while managing risk effectively.
