Job summary

BAT DBS is seeking an Operations Performance Manager in Penang, Malaysia to lead NC Operations across markets, building supplier capabilities and standardising processes. The role drives KPI reviews, capacity planning, and continuous improvement with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery metrics.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in the electronic consumer industry (10 years).
• Proven track record of managing first tier suppliers and subsequent supply chains.
• Proven project management skills with robust action and recovery plans, focussing on maintaining delivery to schedule whilst applying permanent solutions.
• Experience working within monthly & weekly control cycles.
• Ability to call and facilitate effective reviews both internally and within the supply chain, prioritising actions and allocating accountability to deliver the targets we set.
• Bachelor’s in electrical or mechanical or engineering preferred

Role Summary

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

New Categories (NC) Operations covers 30+ markets 3 Commercial Regions and the US, a diverse range of cultures and volatile operating environments.

NC Operations is also driving supplier process and system standardisation, as well as building capability within the suppliers’ network on core processes, and exception-based management.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Technical/Functional/Leadership Skills Required
  • Very good understanding of Production processes.
  • Very good understanding in Supply planning processes.
  • Experienced in Root Cause Analysis and FMEA
  • Experienced & successful launched in Lean, six-sigma, automation, OEE, MES areas
  • The ability to drive suppliers performance align with company goals and strategies
  • The ability to train and educate inexperienced suppliers and groups toward mastering these standard tools.
  • Ability to generate, 'cost down' opportunities to reduce waste throughout the process.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence stakeholders across the commercial and operational business including suppliers.
  • Business focused and proven change agent with project management skills (preferably in a Prince II environment).
