Job summary

OCBC is seeking an experienced IBM i (AS400) System Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team in Cyberjaya. You will steward the core banking environment, including IBM i systems, storage, SAN switches, and encryption key management, ensuring system integrity and high performance.

The role requires strong analytical problem-solving, patch management experience for IBM products, and a proactive mindset for DR readiness and automation.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on IBM i (AS400) systems experience.
At least 2 years of storage and SAN product experience.
Experience with Virtual Tape Library (VTL) technologies.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with IBM i PowerHA is desirable.
Knowledge of IBM Storage DS/FlashSystems is a plus.
Experience with IBM i CL, SQL, programming, Ansible, or AI automation tools is advantageous.
Banking/financial services background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain core IBM i environment including storage, SAN, and key management.
Perform system health checks on hardware and OS.
Plan patch management for IBM products (PTF, VIOS, etc.).
Coordinate disaster recovery exercises and BAU change requests.
Document system configurations and policies.
Drive automation and AI-assisted improvements.
