is seeking an HVAC Engineer to design, review, and supervise HVAC systems for data center projects, covering design deliverables, equipment selection, and commissioning. You will coordinate across electrical, civil, structural, and controls teams, ensure compliance with ASHRAE and local standards, and represent the HVAC discipline in meetings with clients and contractors.
This is an HVAC Engineering role focused on design, technical documentation, site supervision, and commissioning of HVAC systems for data center projects. You will review and develop HVAC design deliverables, prepare engineering documents, supervise installation works, support testing and commissioning activities, coordinate across disciplines, ensure compliance with standards, and represent the HVAC discipline in project meetings.
Review and develop HVAC design deliverables including cooling load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layouts, piping schematics, and general arrangement drawings; ensure compliance with project specifications and data center standards
Prepare and review key engineering documents including Scope of Work, RFQ, Method of Statement (MOS), and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) procedures
Supervise HVAC installation works including chiller plants, CRAC/CRAH units, precision cooling systems, ductwork, piping, and ventilation systems; ensure works are executed in accordance with approved design drawings and safety standards
Support commissioning and test run activities including air balancing, water balancing, chiller performance testing, and integrated system testing; verify installed systems against design intent; close out punch items
Coordinate HVAC design interfaces across electrical, civil, structural, and controls disciplines; ensure design consistency and constructability
Ensure HVAC works comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (ASHRAE, GB50174, TIA-942, local regulations)
Represent the HVAC discipline in project/site coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5–8 years HVAC engineering experience in construction, with 3+ years in data center projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD and HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700)
Strong knowledge of data center cooling systems including chillers, CRAC/CRAH, precision cooling, and free cooling
Familiarity with data center standards (Tier III/IV, Uptime Institute, GB50174, TIA-942, ASHRAE)
Experience in EPCC project delivery and site supervision
PMP or BEM registration is an advantage
Good communication skills in English and Malay; Mandarin is a plus
