Job summary

Eagles Engineers invites an experienced drafter to join our growing HV substation team. You will translate engineer mark-ups into accurate AutoCAD drawings for primary and secondary systems, ensuring adherence to standards and efficient project delivery.

With 5+ years in HV drafting, you will read complex drawings, support both primary and secondary engineers, and contribute to documentation reliability and project success in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of drafting experience, preferably within HV substations, power transmission/distribution, utilities or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Able to read and understand HV primary and secondary engineering drawings, not just reproduce engineer mark-ups.
• Familiar with engineering drawing standards, revisions and document control requirements.
• Able to work independently from engineering mark-ups, sketches and technical instructions.
• Good attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Primary and Secondary Engineers and clarify technical requirements when needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update HV primary and secondary drawings using AutoCAD.
• Work from engineer mark-ups, sketches, existing drawings and technical information to produce accurate drawings.
• Read and understand HV primary and secondary drawings and apply engineering changes correctly.
• Support Primary Engineers with drawings including substation layouts and general arrangements, equipment layouts, sections and elevations, earthing layouts, and cable routing and trench layouts.
• Support Secondary Engineers with drawings including single line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring and termination diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules and related drawings.
• Maintain drawing standards, numbering, revisions and document quality.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify mark-ups and resolve drawing issues.
• Assist with drawing updates throughout design development and project delivery.
