Job summary

CoMade in Kuala Lumpur seeks an HV Electrical Drafter to join our engineering team. Based in KL, you will turn engineer mark-ups into precise AutoCAD drawings for high-voltage substations, working closely with Primary and Secondary Engineers in Australia to keep critical infrastructure moving.

You will read HV primary/secondary drawings, update drawings from mark-ups, maintain standards and document control, and support design development through project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant drafting experience; HV substations or electrical infrastructure preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to work with engineers and maintain document control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update HV primary and secondary drawings using AutoCAD.
• Work from mark-ups, sketches, and existing drawings to produce accurate drawings.
• Read and interpret HV drawings and apply engineering changes correctly.
• Support Primary Engineers with layouts, equipment layouts, sections and elevations, earthing layouts, and cable routing.
• Support Secondary Engineers with single line diagrams, protection schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
• Maintain drawing standards, numbering, revisions, and document quality.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify mark-ups and resolve issues.
• Assist with drawing updates throughout design development and project delivery.

About this role

Join our growing Engineering team and put your AutoCAD skills to work on high-voltage substation projects that matter. As a HV Electrical Drafter based in KL, you'll partner closely with our Primary and Secondary Engineering teams in Australia to turn technical mark-ups into precise, professional drawings helping keep critical infrastructure projects moving. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in HV primary and/or secondary drawings who can read engineering intent and translate it into accurate, reliable documentation.

• Prepare and update HV primary and secondary engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Work from engineer mark-ups, sketches, existing drawings and technical information to produce accurate drawings.
• Read and understand HV primary and secondary drawings and apply engineering changes correctly.
• Support Primary Engineers with drawings including substation layouts and general arrangements, equipment layouts, sections and elevations, earthing layouts, and cable routing and trench layouts.
• Support Secondary Engineers with drawings including single line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring and termination diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules and related drawings.
• Maintain drawing standards, numbering, revisions and document quality.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify mark-ups and resolve drawing issues.
• Assist with drawing updates throughout design development and project delivery.

How you can support CoMade

• Minimum 5 years of relevant drafting experience, preferably within HV substations, power transmission/distribution, utilities or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proven experience preparing and updating HV primary and/or secondary drawings.
• Able to read and understand HV primary and secondary engineering drawings, not just reproduce engineer mark-ups.
• Familiar with engineering drawing standards, revisions and document control requirements.
• Able to work independently from engineering mark-ups, sketches and technical instructions.
• Good attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Primary and Secondary Engineers and clarify technical requirements when needed
