Job summary

SPCI HELM Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. invites an Engineering Intern to support the HSE department in promoting a safe, compliant working environment.

You will assist in daily safety operations, inspections, documentation, and awareness activities at the Penang plant. Under supervision, you will help implement safety policies, update records (SDS, PPE, trainings), participate in briefings, review risk assessments, assist incident investigations, and contribute to HSSE training and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Conduct and support routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard identifications at the plant.
• Update and maintain safety-related records, registers, and documentation (e.g., SDS, PPE records, training logs).
• Participate in or conduct safety briefings to visitors.
• Assist in reviewing and updating Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit to Work (PTW), and risk assessments.
• Support incident/accident investigations by helping gather reports and relevant data.
• Contribute to HSSE training and awareness programs.
• Assist in tracking compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOE, DOSH).
• Perform other safety-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
