We are partnering with a regional digital infrastructure and data centre platform in a search for a Manager, Human Resources to own the full spectrum of HR delivery across its two Malaysian sites, partnering business leaders on employee relations, performance and compliance as the organisation scales. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Serve as the trusted HR adviser to managers and employees across both Malaysian sites, travelling to the second location as required
Partner leaders on workforce planning, organisation effectiveness, retention and team development, keeping people decisions aligned to business objectives and company policy
Support change management and organisational growth initiatives as the business builds out its structure and processes
Manage employee relations and industrial relations matters end to end, covering disciplinary cases, misconduct investigations, grievances and workplace conflict
Conduct investigations and recommend resolutions that are fair, compliant and consistent, maintaining proper case documentation throughout
Handle exits, terminations and separation processes in line with Malaysian labour law
Drive the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, performance improvement plans (PIPs) and development discussions
Coach managers through underperformance, conduct issues and difficult conversations, and support calibration and talent assessment exercises
Act as the in-country reference point on the Employment Act, covering working hours, shift arrangements, overtime eligibility, rest day and public holiday pay, benefits and statutory obligations
Work alongside payroll and external vendors on payroll queries and employment compliance matters
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related discipline
Minimum 5-10 years of relevant HR experience
Proven track record managing employee relations and industrial relations independently, including disciplinary cases, workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct and terminations
Demonstrated ownership of performance management processes and performance improvement plans
Strong command of the Malaysian Employment Act, industrial relations legislation and HR compliance requirements
Good working knowledge of payroll-related regulations spanning overtime, working hours, shift arrangements, public holiday pay and statutory obligations
Experience supporting multiple business functions and partnering with managers at varying levels of seniority
Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to handle sensitive and complex employee matters professionally
Proactive and self-directed, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through in an environment where processes are still being built
Prior experience within an MNC environment preferred, with exposure to engineering, construction, infrastructure, technology, data centre or project-based industries a plus
