Job summary

Vistra Malaysia seeks an HR Manager to cover a fixed-term maternity assignment from November 2026 to February 2027. You will partner with the Malaysia Market Lead and people managers to deliver a four‑month people plan, provide trusted workforce advice, and manage end-to-end HR processes with strong compliance across Malaysian requirements.

The role requires 7–10 years of HR experience, fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Law or a related discipline; a relevant professional qualification is advantageous
  • Typically 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to HR business partnering, employee relations and HR operations in Malaysia
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders, managing complex employee matters and delivering change in a matrixed or multinational organization
  • Strong practical knowledge of Malaysian employment and industrial relations requirements
  • Professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Available to fulfil the complete fixed-term assignment from November 2026 to February 2027, including structured handover at commencement and completion
  • Strong stakeholder management, consulting, coaching, communication, and influencing capability
  • Sound judgment and confidence in managing sensitive, complex, and confidential matters
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands‑on operational execution
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, project management, and change management skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Malaysia Market Lead, leadership team and people managers to understand immediate business priorities and translate them into a focused four-month people plan
  • Provide trusted advice on workforce planning, organization effectiveness, leadership capability, talent and day-to-day people matters
  • Lead local delivery of goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, calibration, promotions, and performance improvement processes
  • Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, investigations, performance concerns and separations, fairly and consistently
  • Maintain compliance with applicable Malaysian employment, industrial relations, working-time, leave, statutory contribution, employment agreement and termination requirements
  • Oversee the quality and timely execution of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee changes, payroll inputs, benefits, leave and offboarding
  • Coordinate Malaysia statutory administration and submissions, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS and other required employment records
  • Partner with leaders on organization design, role clarity, workforce restructuring, and change initiatives
  • Lead local engagement initiatives and action planning based on employee feedback and people insights
  • Deliver regional and global HR programs in Malaysia, including reward, talent, learning, engagement and policy initiatives

The HR Manager provides fixed-term maternity cover for Vistra Malaysia from November 2026 to February 2027. The role partners with the Malaysia Market Lead, business leaders, people managers and the People Lead, Malaysia to maintain continuity of the local people agenda, deliver essential HR services, manage employee matters and ensure a smooth handover before and after the assignment. The role safeguards compliance, supports organizational capability and employee engagement, and ensures a consistent employee experience aligned with Malaysia requirements and regional and global standards.
