About the Location
Four Seasons Hotel and Residences is part of a 65‑storey mixed‑use tower that will include 242 Four Seasons Private Residences, 27 serviced apartments, a 209‑key hotel, and a six‑floor luxury retail podium of 250,000 square feet. The hotel will feature multiple dining outlets, including a Cantonese restaurant, lobby and rooftop pool bars, an all‑day dining restaurant with sweeping views of the Petronas Twin Towers, an executive lounge, a spa, a wellness‑focused fitness centre and a rooftop infinity pool offering panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
Housekeeping Supervisor – Room
The Housekeeping Supervisor – Room is an essential member of the Rooms Division team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The housekeeping team works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every guest room and public area is impeccable at all times.
What You Will Do
- The ability to follow proper payroll and key procedures.
- The ability to collect room and floor status report sheets for assigned work areas and assign rooms to Room Attendants as needed.
- The ability to perform all tasks for the position of Room Attendant/Runner, using and teaching the correct safe use of all equipment and chemicals selected for the property.
- The ability to supervise, guide, schedule, discipline and evaluate all Room Attendants/Runner.
- The ability to train housekeeping employees to achieve the standards of cleanliness and turn‑down service in guest rooms.
- The ability to make recommendations and follow through on conflict resolution, coaching and counseling, and, when appropriate, disciplinary action for assigned staff.
- The ability to provide excellent guest service in all areas of responsibility.
- The ability to carry out the duties of supervisor as specified in the hotel operating criteria.
- The ability to inspect guest rooms, including VIP, vacant, occupied and check‑out rooms, to ensure the standards are being achieved by each employee in accordance with the standards of Four Seasons.
- The ability to inspect the rooms after the attendants perform the turn‑down service on a nightly basis.
- The ability to inspect late check‑out rooms after being cleaned by the PM shift attendants.
- The ability to maintain the established par on all guest supplies, linens, operating equipment, tools and chemicals in housekeeping stores for daily room cleaning and inspection.
- The ability to interpret all departmental policies, procedures and standards established by the DOHK and Four Seasons.
- The ability to fill out and coordinate engineering work orders in assigned areas and follow up on inspections, as well as the ability to follow up on the defects found in guestrooms.
- The ability to conduct daily briefing and highlight the daily activities.
- The ability to be accountable for the hotel keys (and walkie‑talkie where applicable) issued to the Room Attendants and their retrieval.
- The ability to monitor and direct progress of Room Attendants in rooms that are undergoing deep cleaning.
- The ability to maintain the upkeep of all room draperies, carpet cleaning, sheets, bed skirts, throw cushions and furniture refinishing.
- The ability to participate in controlling equipment and labour cost while maintaining quality standards.
- The ability to schedule and participate in departmental meetings.
- The ability to make sure housekeeping storage areas and closets are kept in an orderly and clean fashion.
- The ability to inspect armoires to ensure all items are stocked in an orderly fashion and in sufficient quantities.
- The ability to handle all lost and found items according to procedure.
- The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- The ability to ensure the Minibar team carries out their tasks in accordance with the standards of Four Seasons.
- The ability to be familiar with the minibar daily operation.
- The ability to maintain relationships with all departments, mainly with Front Office, Laundry and Engineering.
What You Bring
- High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Poses an affinity for guest service.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Must be comfortable around chemicals, machines and have the ability to learn their operation.
- Firm knowledge of housekeeping operations and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in an international hotel or resort.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as per business demands and needs.
- Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
