Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Chief Steward to lead the Stewarding team, ensuring top-tier cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency across all Food & Beverage outlets and banquet operations.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory stewarding experience in a luxury hotel, strong knowledge of HACCP, and excellent English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills. Local work rights in Malaysia apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years stewarding experience in a luxury hotel.

• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English; Bahasa Malaysia proficiency.
• Must have the right to work in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Stewarding department, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Lead, train, motivate, and develop the stewarding team to deliver high-performance results and service excellence.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and operating supplies are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen, back-of-house, banquet, and food preparation areas.
• Monitor compliance with health regulations, HACCP, and hotel policies.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences is part of a 65-storey mixed‑use tower that will include 242 Four Seasons Private Residences, 27 serviced apartments, a 209‑key Four Seasons Hotel and a six‑ floor of 250,000 square foot luxury retail podium, collectively known as Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur. Chief Steward

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced and service‑oriented Chief Steward to lead the Stewarding team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency across all Food & Beverage outlets, banquet operations, and culinary areas. The Chief Steward is responsible for managing stewarding operations, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, maintaining equipment and inventories, and supporting seamless service delivery throughout the hotel.

What You Will Do:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Stewarding department, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently achieved.
• Lead, train, motivate, and develop the stewarding team to deliver high‑performance results and service excellence.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and operating supplies are cleaned, sanitized, and stored appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen, back‑of‑house, banquet, and food preparation areas.
• Ensure compliance with local health regulations, food safety standards, HACCP requirements, and Four Seasons policies and procedures.
• Monitor the proper use, storage, and inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Collaborate closely with Culinary, Banquets, Restaurants, and Engineering teams to support operational requirements.
• Manage stewarding schedules and manpower deployment to ensure adequate coverage based on business demands.
• Control operating expenses through effective inventory management and responsible use of resources.
• Coordinate waste management and sustainability initiatives in line with the hotel’s environmental goals.
• Report and follow up on equipment breakdowns, maintenance issues, and workplace safety concerns.
• Prepare departmental reports, inventory records, and other administrative documentation as required.
• Ensure all stewarding areas are organised, secure, and compliant with safety regulations.

What You Bring:

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of stewarding experience in a luxury hotel, resort or upscale hospitality environment, including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen sanitation, food safety regulations, HACCP principles and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Experience managing stewarding operations for multiple outlets and banquet functions.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Computer literacy and experience with inventory control systems are preferred.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
• Must be able to speak, read and write Bahasa Malaysia.
• Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
