Job summary

Hotel Royal Limited in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Purchasing Manager cum Cost Controller to support daily purchasing activities, supplier sourcing, price negotiations and cost control within the Finance/Purchasing department.

The role requires a diploma/degree in relevant fields, at least 3 years of hotel experience, and strong skills in Excel and Netsuite. You will monitor costs, perform stock checks and prepare monthly reports in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Purchasing or Hospitality Management.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hotel experience.
• Knowledge of hotel purchasing, inventory and cost control procedures.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage costing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Netsuite System and hotel operating systems.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Honest, responsible, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily purchasing activities and procurement operations.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and negotiate competitive prices.
• Ensure all purchases comply with hotel policies and approved budgets.
• Monitor food, beverage and general operating costs.
• Conduct regular stocktaking and inventory checks.
• Monitor stock movement, wastage, breakages and stock discrepancies.
• Verify purchase orders, delivery orders, goods received notes and supplier invoices.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage and stock issuance procedures.
• Prepare monthly purchasing, inventory and cost control reports.
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing and product quality.
