Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a Cook Assistant/Kitchen Helper to support hospital dietary services in preparing meals for patients and staff. You will ensure quality, portion control and safe food handling while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

The role requires at least 1 year in a kitchen setting or hospital dietary services, with a SP M or equivalent and a culinary certificate as advantages. A collaborative team player who can work under pressure is essential.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent completed.
• Certificate in Culinary/chef training is an extra advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work with hospital dietary guidelines and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to daily meal production lists and quality standards.
• Arrange food on plates and platters neatly for patients and staff.
• Follow portioning guidelines and temperature controls for safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
• Assist with inventory and supply management; inform when par levels are reached.
• Supervise food production in the absence of senior staff.
• Report malfunctions and inspect food items/equipment regularly.
• Support catering projects and other duties as instructed.
