Job summary

Qualifications

• Billing and cashiering experience preferred.
• Experience with hospital billing is a plus.
• Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care to patients and relatives to ensure comfort and minimal waiting time.
• Perform duties in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain organized cashier counters and waiting areas.
• Code and verify bills, charge slips and receipts.
• Support stock takes and department inventory as required.
• Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• Attend meetings as directed by management.
• Ensure daily and monthly department reporting; enter orders and generate bills promptly.
• Meet quality reporting standards for daily activities.
• Provide accounting support to management and assist colleagues with billing and receipts.
• Respond to queries on hospital charges.
• Update staff with debtor information as required.
• Assist monitoring of Credit Management per policy.
• Flag long outstanding bills to Finance Executive.
• Provide documented evidence for debt collection as needed.
• Relieve other staff when required.
• Attend special audits and assignments as directed by Finance Manager/Executive.
• Register, screen and assign patients to wards or consultants.
• Provide information to patients/relatives about hospital services during registration.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
