Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Malaysia seeks a High Voltage Project Manager for Data Center projects based in Johor Bahru. You will lead HV substation planning, execution and commissioning, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver critical power infrastructure.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in HV substation or transmission and distribution projects, with strong leadership and problem‑solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of HV substation or transmission & distribution experience.
• Experience with TNB projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, protection schemes, and SCADA integration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects (132kV or higher).
• Coordinate with clients (e.g., TNB), consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with Energy Commission (ST) regulations and TNB standards.
• Monitor project progress, budget, and quality, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead site inspections, safety audits, and technical reviews.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, reports, and permits.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Liaise with local authorities for approvals and inspections.
