Job summary

DayOne Data Centers, a Singapore-headquartered global digital infrastructure platform, is seeking a skilled electrical professional in Malaysia to join its team. The role focuses on electrical switching, testing, and routine generator management across campus-wide substations, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The candidate will supervise technicians, handle critical fault diagnostics, and support emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Valid B0-11kV Chargeman certificate.
• Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of UPS, switchgear, grounding, generators.
• Must be able to supervise technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical switching, isolation, and testing per licensing and safety standards.
• Conduct round checks at all incoming substations Campus wide.
• Lead MV generator routine tests as per Preventive Maintenance plan.
• Support critical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on electrical equipment.
• Lead and support emergency response during incidents; accompany DC Ops/contractors to enter MV Power Module.
• Collaborate with engineers and advise on MOP & SOP development for electrical system.
• Ensure Chargeman certification is valid and registered with Energy Commission under DayOne.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical switching, isolation, and testing in accordance with licensing requirements and safety standards.
• Conduct round checks at all incoming substations (CLS) Campus wide.
• Lead all MV generator routine test run as per Preventive Maintenance plan.
• Support and assist with critical troubleshooting work and fault diagnostic on all electrical equipment Campus wide.
• Lead and support emergency response during incidents. Support and accompany DC Ops/ contractors to enter MV Power Module.
• Work closely with engineers and advise with MOP & SOP development for electrical system.
• Ensure their Chargeman certification is valid and registered with Energy Commission under DayOne.

Candidate Requirements

• At least a valid B0-11kV Chargeman certificate.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in in electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of UPS, switchgear, grounding systems, generators, and other electrical infrastructure
• Ability to supervise and guide technicians.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and LOTO practices. Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.
• Willing to work on a 12 hour shift.
