Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Technician to join our Johor Bahru operations team. You will supervise MV equipment, perform switching and testing, and conduct routine checks with safety and LOTO compliance.

Collaborate with engineers to develop SOPs, support emergency response, and assist with maintenance plans. A valid B0-11kV Chargeman certificate and 3+ years of electrical experience are required, with willingness to work 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid B0-11kV Chargeman certificate.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of UPS, switchgear, grounding systems, generators.
• Ability to supervise and guide technicians.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and LOTO practices.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical switching, isolation, and testing in accordance with licensing requirements and safety standards.
• Conduct round checks at all incoming substations (CLS) Campus wide.
• Lead all MV generator routine test run as per Preventive Maintenance plan.
• Support and assist with critical troubleshooting work and fault diagnostic on all electrical equipment Campus wide.
• Lead and support emergency response during incidents.
• Support and accompany DC Ops/ contractors to enter MV Power Module.
• Work closely with engineers and advise with MOP & SOP development for electrical system.
• Ensure their Chargeman certification is valid and registered with Energy Commission under DayOne.
