Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a nursing aide to provide basic nursing care in alignment with our hospital’s vision and goals. You will assist with daily ward activities, perform routine patient support, and coordinate with nursing leaders to maintain quality of care.

Responsibilities include patient bedside care, ADL assistance, and supporting nursing staff during shifts. This role requires Malaysian schooling credentials and prioritizes certified healthcare assistants.

Qualifications

• Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia is required.
• Certified healthcare assistants would be a priority.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living and help with bed making, cleanliness, and organization.
• Transport patients to and from the operating theatre and assist in diagnostics and discharge processes.
• Collect specimens and coordinate with pharmacy and stores to maintain stock for operations.

Notify the nursing leaders of any situations that impact the quality of care.

Obtainwardreport and assignment at the beginning of each shift and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Unit Manager or Senior Registered Nurse.

Daily routine:

• Conducts regular nursing rounds to assess patients’ needs and communicate with them and their families.
• Prepares and tidies patients’ beds and linens as needed and organizes patients’ belongings as well as furniture.
• Disinfects the beds, furniture, and equipment after utilizing them.
• Keeps the ward, store,fridge,and its facilities clean and tidy.
• Assist the patient withActivities of Daily Living
• Answer phone calls and relay messages.
• Attendants to patients call the bell promptly.
• Assists nurses in transporting patients to and from the operating theatre.
• Escorts patients to other services for diagnostic tests and from the ward to other areas upon discharge.
• Dispatches specimens to the laboratory and collects results
• Collect pharmacy and surgical supplies from pharmacy and the store as required to maintain adequate stock levels for operations.
• Send out portable oxygen tanks for refilling or exchange, ensuring a continuous supply for emergency needs.

Assists the trained staff in various aspects:

• Carried out of nursing care, such as patient comfort, safety, nutrition, hygiene, admission, transfer, discharge, dressing, intravenous lines, catheterization, etc.
• Cleans and disinfects the trolley and instruments after use and stores them properly.
• Maintains the record of intake and output chart for each patient.
• Lifts, turns, and positions patients safely
• Accompanies the consultant in performing procedures and rounds in the absence of trained nurse

Attend meetings held by the service.
