You will uphold hospital standards, communicate with patients and families, document care, assist with admissions and transfers, respond promptly to calls, and help maintain a clean, safe ward environment for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualificações

• Required SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) with priority for certified healthcare assistants.
• Experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.
• Basic Life Support and good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.

Responsabilidades

General Description

Provide basic nursing care in accordance with established standards, work collaboratively with team members, and report any incidents or issues to relevant authorities to ensure the delivery of high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care that aligns with the vision, mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the nursing services and the hospital.
• Notify the nursing leaders of any situation that impacts the quality of care.
• Obtain ward report and assignment at the beginning of each shift and perform additional tasks assigned by the Unit Manager or Assistant Unit Manager.
• Conduct regular nursing rounds to assess patients’ needs and communicate with them and their families.
• Prepare and tidy patients’ beds and linens as needed and organize patients’ belongings as well as furniture.
• Disinfect the beds, furniture, and equipment after utilization.
• Keep the ward, store, fridge, and its facilities clean and tidy.
• Assist the patient with activities of daily living.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages.
• Attend to patients’ bell promptly.
• Assist trained staff in transporting patients to and from the operating theatre, and escort patients to other services for diagnostic tests and from the ward to other areas upon discharge.
• Dispatch specimens to the laboratory and collect results.
• Collect pharmacy and surgical supplies from pharmacy and the store as required to maintain adequate stock levels for operations.
• Send out portable oxygen tanks for refilling or exchange, ensuring a continuous supply for emergency needs.
• Assist trained staff in various nursing care aspects such as patient comfort, safety, nutrition, hygiene, admission, transfer, discharge, dressing, intravenous lines, catheterization, etc.
• Clean and disinfect the trolley and instruments after use and store them properly.
• Record the daily charges for the items used in the ward and update the patients’ charges accordingly.
• Lift, turn, and position patients safely.
• Accompany the consultant in performing procedures and rounds in the absence of trained nurses.
• Attend meetings held by the service.

Qualifications

• Education: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. Certified healthcare assistants would be a priority.
• Experience: Experience working in a hospital setting is an advantage.
• Skills & Competencies: Basic Life Support. Able to converse fluently and write in English language and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Personal attributes: Interpersonal and communication skills. Caring, honest, and responsible worker. Willingness to work on scheduled hours, shifts and weekends, public holidays and any time called during an emergency.
