Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant for the Emergency Department (A&E) to support patients with basic care needs and assist nurses and clinicians in daily operations.

The role requires assisting in examinations, transports, and preparing patients for procedures while maintaining a safe, clean, and confidential environment in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic care needs, mobility, transfers and other activities as required.
• Support nurses and medical staff in providing safe and efficient patient care.
• Assist in preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and consultations.
• Assist in transporting and accompanying patients to relevant departments, wards, or diagnostic areas.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain patient care areas and equipment.
• Ensure proper hygiene, infection prevention, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained.
• Assist patients and visitors and provide directions to the appropriate locations.
• Assist with patient registration, documentation, and other basic administrative duties when required.
• Respond promptly to patients' needs and elevate concerns to the appropriate nursing or medical staff.
• Support the Emergency Department team during busy periods and emergency situations.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or Manager.

Working Hours

This position requires rotating shifts, including morning, afternoon, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
