Job summary

Segi University Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced academic leader to oversee the School of IT (SOIT) and drive academic affairs development across related departments. The role reports to the Dean and includes strategic planning, partnership development, and ensuring programme profitability.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in IT or related field with 5–7 years in education and management, excellent English, and willingness to relocate to Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Must possess a PhD in IT or a related discipline.
• At least 5–7 years of working/teaching experience in education and in a managerial position.
• Demonstrated strong skills in Software Engineering, AI, Cybersecurity or Data Science.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels.
• Ability to manage lecturers, support staff, students, and parents.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willing to relocate to Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate teaching, services and activities for the School of IT (SOIT) and academic affairs development for all relevant departments.
• Assist the Dean to plan, coordinate and develop business development activities through market and industrial research, analysis of workplace systems and information system design to boost student population growth for SOIT.
• Collaborate with Corporate Marketing on smart partnerships, projects, seminars and forums.
• Be responsible for programmes development, financial planning and profitability of SOIT programmes.

Job description

Specialisation:

• Computer Science and/or


• Artificial Intelligence and/or


• Cybersecurity and/or


• Data Sciences.

Responsibilities:

• To oversee and coordinate teaching, services and activities for the School of IT (SOIT) and academic affairs development for all relevant departments.


• To assist the Dean to plan, coordinate and develop business development activities through market and industrial research, analysis of the workplace systems and information system design and derive relevant projects to improve the student population growth for the School of IT.


• To work closely with the Corporate Marketing team on the smart partnership, projects, seminars and forums and etc.


• To be responsible for programmes development, financial and profitability of the SOIT programmes.

Requirements:

• Must possessed a PhD and a Basic Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline, including Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or other relevant IT fields.


• At least 5-7 years of working/ teaching experience in education line and managerial position.


• Demonstrate strong skills and knowledge in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or Data Science, with relevant expertise in one or more of these areas being an advantage.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels.


• Ability to manage lecturers, support staff, students and parents.


• Strong command in written and spoken English.


• Willing to relocate to Malaysia.
