Job summary

SEGi University in Kota Damansara, Malaysia invites applications for a lecturer to review, update and develop lesson plans, deliver lectures and supervise undergraduate students in computer science and information technology programs.

Candidates should hold a Master and a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with at least three years of teaching experience; strong English and presentation skills are essential, and programme coordination experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess Master and a basic degree in computer science / software engineering / data sciences / information systems / information technology.
• 3+ years teaching experience in related field; programme coordination experience advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, lectures and workshops to students enrolled in the programme.
• Review, update and develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments and class discussions.
• Supervise undergraduate students and monitor academic progress.
• Contribute to exam development, marking and assessment administration.
• Engage in faculty and university activities and provide academic counselling when needed.

To review, update and develop lesson plans, scheme of work, lectures/practical, tutorials, assignments, class discussion in compliance with the syllabus and curriculum.

To conduct lectures, tutorials, discussion, workshops, consultancy and any other means of facilitating the learning of students enrolled for the programme.

To contribute in the development of new academic programme and to provide ideas, suggestions, proposals and recommendations that can improve the operations, management and profitability of the School/Faculty and University.

To supervise undergraduate students.

To monitor and report student progress in term of academic performance and attendance.

To involve in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.

To provide academic counselling and pastoral care to all students.

To be involved in Faculty and University activities when required.

Requirements:

• Must possess Master and a basic degree in computer science / software engineering/ data sciences/ information system or information technology
• Skill and knowledge on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity or Data Sciences will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the related field. Those with programme coordination experience will have an advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong command in written and spoken English.
