Job summary

Pac Lease Berhad is seeking a Head of Technology & Transformation to lead technology strategy, digitalisation, project delivery, application support and IT service management.

This role collaborates with Management across departments to implement practical technology improvements, strengthen cybersecurity, promote data and AI adoption, and ensure outsourced IT support meets SLAs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/CS/IS or related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including ≥5 years in technology leadership or senior management.
• Experience overseeing project delivery, enterprise applications, information security, IT service management and outsourced vendors.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving and change management capabilities.
• Experience in financial services, leasing, lending or other regulated industry is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications in project management, information security or IT service management are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Technology and Digitalization Planning: Develop and implement practical technology and digitalization plans aligned with the Company’s priorities.
• Project Management Oversight: Provide direction and oversight to the Project Management function, ensuring projects are evaluated, planned and resourced within scope and budget.
• Application Support and Business Systems: Oversee performance, support and continuous improvement of core business applications, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Information Security and Cyber Defense: Oversee information security and cybersecurity framework, manage risks, controls and incident preparedness.
• IT Support and Vendor Management: Oversee outsourced IT support, set SLAs, monitor performance and conduct regular service reviews.
• Data, Analytics and AI Adoption: Promote use of data analytics, dashboards, automation and AI-enabled tools with governance.
• Business Engagement and Change Adoption: Build relationships with department heads, ensure requirements, training and adoption during delivery.
• People Leadership: Lead and develop functional leaders, set objectives and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Technology & Transformation is to lead the Company’s technology, digitalisation, project management, application support, information security and IT service management functions. The role ensures that technology initiatives support business growth, operational efficiency, customer experience and regulatory requirements.

This role works closely with Management and all departments to identify practical technology improvements, oversee project delivery, strengthen cybersecurity, promote data and AI adoption, and ensure that the outsourced IT support provider delivers in accordance with agreed expectations and service levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology and Digitalization Planning

• Develop and implement practical technology and digitalization plans aligned with the Company’s priorities.
• Recommend technology investment priorities based on business needs, risks, costs and expected benefits.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, customer experience and service delivery through automation and digital solutions.
• Provide technology advice and recommendations to Management.

Project Management Oversight

• Provide direction and oversight to the Project Management function.
• Ensure projects are appropriately evaluated, prioritized, planned and resourced. project timelines, budgets, risks, issues and expected outcomes.
• Ensure strategic projects are delivered on time, within approved budget and in accordance with agreed scope.
• Facilitate timely escalation and resolution of significant project issues.

Application Support and Business Systems

• Oversee the performance, support and continuous improvement of core business applications.
• Ensure system enhancements and integrations meet operational and regulatory requirements.
• Work with business departments to translate requirements into practical system solutions.
• Monitor application availability, service quality, issue resolution and user satisfaction.

Information Security and Cyber Defense

• Oversee the Company’s information security and cybersecurity framework.
• Ensure technology and cyber risks are assessed, monitored and appropriately managed.
• Monitor compliance with security policies, internal controls, audit requirements and applicable regulations.
• Ensure preparedness for cybersecurity incidents, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness across the Company.

IT Support and Vendor Management

• Oversee the outsourced IT support team stationed at the Company’s office.
• Set clear service expectations, responsibilities, escalation arrangements and performance standards.
• Monitor service-level agreement (SLA) delivery, incident resolution, service requests and user satisfaction.
• Conduct regular service reviews and require corrective or improvement actions where performance falls below expectations.
• Ensure the service provider complies with the Company’s security, governance and operational requirements.

Data, Analytics and AI Adoption

• Promote practical use of data analytics, dashboards, automation and AI-enabled tools.
• Identify suitable use cases that improve decision-making, productivity, risk management or customer experience.
• Ensure appropriate governance, security and accountability are applied to data and AI initiatives.

Business Engagement and Change Adoption

• Build strong working relationships with Department Heads and key users.
• Encourage cross-department participation and ownership in technology initiatives.
• Ensure business requirements, user readiness, communication, training and adoption are addressed as part of project delivery.

People Leadership

• Lead and develop the functional leaders reporting to the role.
• Set clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations.
• Strengthen collaboration across Project Management, Application Support, Cybersecurity and IT Support.
• Build team capability, succession readiness and a culture of accountability, service and continuous improvement.
