Job summary

Moomoo is seeking an experienced Head of Operations / Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of our securities and investment products across markets. You will ensure smooth daily operations, strong controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements.

You will lead and develop the operations team, work with regulators, custodians, fund houses, and market counterparties, driving operational excellence in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree; preferred majors in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, settlement and corporate actions.
• Experience designing operating procedures and maker-checker controls in regulated environments.
• Proven leadership of an operations team in a stockbroking or financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Own operations across full lifecycle of securities, derivatives, unit trusts, and IPO subscriptions.
• Direct settlement, processing and transfers; oversee Bursa Clearing and external custody instructions.
• Oversee corporate actions processing and reconciliation; manage controls and documentation.
• Address exceptions (fails, late instructions, settlement issues) and escalate as needed.
• Support regulatory reporting and audits; liaise with regulators and market counterparties.
• Define operational target state for new products and drive process/system improvements.
• Set team objectives, manage resources, and cascade updates to the team.

As we continue to expand our presence in Malaysia, we are looking for experienced professionals to join our growing team and contribute to building a high-performing and well-controlled brokerage operations function.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations / Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of our securities and investment products across various markets. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations, strong operational controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements.

You will work closely with internal teams, regulators, custodians, fund houses, share registrars, and other market counterparties, while also leading and developing the operations team.

Responsibilities

• Own operations across the full lifecycle of securities, derivatives, unit trusts, and IPO subscriptions in various markets
• Direct daily settlement, transaction processing, and share/stock transfers, covering Bursa Clearing activity and external custody instructions
• Own the end-to-end corporate action processing and oversee daily custody and position reconciliation
• Handle exceptional processes (fails, late instructions, settlement issues, system or market events) and elevate to senior management as per the escalation matrix
• Maintain operating policies and procedures, maker-checker controls, and evidence of control performance
• Oversee regulatory and management reporting for operations, including accuracy, completeness, and on-time submission
• Support internal and external audits, including producing documentation and walking through processes
• Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g. SC and Bursa) on operational matters; run day-to-day engagement with share registrars, fund houses, the external custodian, and other counterparties
• Review production processes for control gaps, operational risks, and inefficiencies, and drive process improvements and input to system enhancements
• Support new product and business initiatives by defining the operational target state, systems, and process requirements
• Set team objectives, plan team resources and coverage, close capability gaps, and cascade market, regulatory, and management updates to the team

Requirements

• Degree holder in any discipline; a major in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is preferred
• Minimum 8 years of operations experience within a stockbroking firm, investment bank, or other regulated financial institution
• Proven experience leading an operations-related team/department, covering resource planning and people management
• Strong working knowledge of the full trade lifecycle, including clearing, settlement, and corporate actions processing
• Experience designing and enforcing operating procedures and maker-checker controls in line with regulatory and internal audit requirements. Experience supporting new product launches is a plus
• Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia and Bursa Clearing rules and processes is strongly preferred
• Language proficiency in English, Malay is a must; Chinese/Mandarin is highly advantageous given global team collaboration
