Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast is seeking a Director of Experiences & Recreation to lead the resort's vibrant Experiences & Recreation division, including Kids Club, Nature Programmes, and Sports & Activities. You will curate luxury guest experiences and develop revenue-generating programmes that elevate the destination.

You will oversee wellness, outdoor activities, and events, while ensuring safety, training, and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of luxury hospitality or resort recreation experience.
• At least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing multiple recreational outlets and guest experience programs.
• First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Experiences & Recreation team.
• Set departmental goals, metrics, and staffing plans.
• Design unique guest experiences and seasonal activity calendars.
• Oversee recreation facilities and safety compliance.
• Coordinate wellness and outdoor programs with a luxury guest focus.
• Prepare and manage the department budget and revenue growth.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing for promotional campaigns.
• Maintain records, SOPs, and performance reports.
