Job summary

AIG Malaysia Insurance Berhad seeks a Head of IT to craft the technology strategy and lead Malaysia's technology organization. You will direct design, implementation and operations, oversee vendor management, and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to deliver systems aligned with business goals while mentoring teams and driving performance.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the Malaysia General Insurance industry.
• Demonstrated technology leadership and strategy development.
• Experience leading technology teams and managing vendor relationships.
• Experience working with internal and external auditors.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines such as Bank Negara's.

How you will create an impact

Develop the strategy and set technology direction for AIG Malaysia. Lead the effective design, implementation, and operational support of Technology within the organization including management of third-party vendors and AIG COEs. Provide leadership to the Malaysia Technology Teams in Strategic, Operational, Project and Production Support. Work with the CEO and the Malaysia Executive Team to facilitate delivery of Systems that meet the objectives of the Profit and Service units. Control the integrity of applications, information & systems via corporate change control Procedures and to required Compliance standards. Align the AIG Malaysia technology strategy with Asia Pacific and global technology initiatives, sharing ideas and collaborating across forums. Build strong internal relationships with Business & Service stakeholders to ensure that service standards meet or exceed expectations. Collaborate and build strong working relationships with Asia Pacific Technology and Group Technology peers to ensure consistency of information, methodologies and reports; share best practices and develop systems knowledge. Lead the Technology function by setting and communicating a clear and engaging vision, articulating how Technology adds value to the organisation. Actively manage staff performance by setting clear objectives and monitoring, coaching and managing against these.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Thorough understanding of the Malaysia General Insurance industry, including channels (Direct, FI, Broker), key buying groups and competitor activity.
• Thorough understanding of Malaysia General Insurance or Financial Services Industry.
• Sound technical and functional knowledge of systems and technology.
• Holds a demonstrated Technology background in the Malaysia General Insurance Industry.
• Experience leading Technology teams to maintain business as usual services.
• Demonstrated success in developing, managing and creating buy in with technology strategies and initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with internal customers.
• Champion common processes for executing and selling technology programs.
• Good communication skills within areas of direct responsibility as well as intra company departments.
• Superior ability to communicate technical information in a manner receptive and easily understood by targeted audiences.
• Strategic and innovative approaches to solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in successful vendor management.
• Demonstrated ability to identify impacts of technology developments on the industry as it affects the AIG strategy.
• Experience working with Internal and External auditors.
• Familiarity with Bank Negara's regulatory & RMiT guidelines.
