Job summary

AEON Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Head of IT to lead enterprise-wide technology strategy, digital transformation, and IT governance across retail and related operations.

You will advise senior leadership, manage the IT budget, oversee cybersecurity, vendor relationships, and large-scale projects while developing future technology leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive IT and digital roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives across retail operations, omnichannel platforms, and commercial functions.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (AI, automation, cloud, analytics) to enhance customer and employee experience.
• Oversee enterprise IT architecture, infrastructure, and system integration.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of retail systems including POS, inventory, and supply chain platforms.
• Establish strong cybersecurity frameworks, IT governance policies, and compliance standards.
• Lead large-scale IT projects from planning to execution.
• Manage annual IT budget and technology investment portfolio.
• Drive vendor performance, contract negotiations, SLA governance, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Leverage technology to improve revenue, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Implement automation and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
• Support technology enablement for new store openings, refurbishments, and expansion initiatives.
• Build and lead high-performing IT teams.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Develop future technology leaders and strengthen succession pipelines.

A leading Retail organization is seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of IT to lead enterprise-wide technology strategy, digital transformation, and IT governance across retail and related business operations.

This role will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, ensuring technology investments support long-term growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.

Job Responsibilities: -

Develop and execute a comprehensive IT and digital roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.

Lead digital transformation initiatives across retail operations, omnichannel platforms, and commercial functions.

Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (AI, automation, cloud, analytics) to enhance customer and employee experience.

IT Operations, Infrastructure & Security

Oversee enterprise IT architecture, infrastructure, and system integration.

Job Requirements: -

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably within retail or multi-site operations.

Proven track record in leading enterprise-scale digital transformation.

Strong expertise in IT governance, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and vendor management.

Commercially astute with experience managing substantial IT budgets.

Strong stakeholder management, leadership presence, and strategic thinking capability.
