Job summary

Centific in Penang is seeking a Hardware Test Automation Engineer to join its growing hardware and software validation team. You will automate tests, extend Python frameworks, and integrate test workflows across Linux, Windows, and macOS in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will build device drivers (ADB, serial/UART, SCPI/VISA), link test stations to a shared data pipeline, and contribute to dashboards tracking product metrics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with hardware or system test automation.
• Experience writing robust Python code using industry best practices.
• Experience automating lab instruments and analyzing test data.

We aim to help these organizations unlock significant business value by deploying GenAI at scale, helping to ensure they stay at the forefront of technological advancement and maintain a competitive edge in their respective markets.**About Job**Responsibilities* Work with validation engineers to automate tests/analysis for V&V activities* Build and extend Python test frameworks and libraries for device control, test orchestration, and data analysis* Integrate tests into existing/new CI/CD pipelines* Package and deploy test software to Linux, Windows, and macOS hosts* Write and maintain device and instrument drivers (ADB, serial/UART, SCPI/VISA, DAQs)* Integrate test stations/DUTs to a shared device farm for hardware-in-the-loop testing* Support bring-up of test equipment and bench instruments* Define fixture software interfaces, and work with external vendors on bring-up* Build and maintain pipelines moving large volumes of test and image data from lab stations to cloud storage and queryable databases* Build dashboards and alerts for product metrics, station health, and data pipelines* Write unit-tested code and review changes from other engineers* Build and extend AI tooling (agents, skills, etc.) to improve development/validation workflows* Potentially up to 5-10% travel as needed to CMs in ChinaMinimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience* 5+ years of software development experience, including hardware or system test automation* Experience writing robust software in Python using industry best practices* Previous experience onboarding to mature codebases, build systems, and CI, and contributing through code review* Experience automating lab instruments/equipment* Experience analyzing test data using scripts (matplotlib, pandas, etc.) or directly via SQL* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills* Professional oral/written proficiency in English, for code/design reviews and collaboration with a distributed team Preferred Qualifications* Experience in consumer electronics V&V* Experience working in a large monorepo with build systems (ex Bazel)* Familiarity automating tests on Android devices using ADB (Android Debug Bridge)* Experience building automated data pipelines and dashboards* Experience designing Python libraries or service APIs (e.g., gRPC/protobuf)* Familiarity automating motion stages, robotic fixtures, or camera-based measurements* Experience reading schematics and system block diagrams* Experience building device farms or CI for hardware-in-the-loop testing* Familiarity using AI tools (ex.
