Job summary

SICK SDN BHD is seeking an engineer to design and maintain electrical aspects of automation solutions for production and test equipment. You will participate in developing new testing concepts and optimize current ones, create supplier specifications, and review proposals covering control, electrical and mechanical design.

You will also implement security concepts and oversee commissioning and qualification of equipment.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
Experience in production environment is an advantage.
Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and 2D/3D drawings.
Experience interfacing sensors, actuators, PLCs and measurement equipment.
Knowledge of common industrial protocols (RS232, Modbus, Ethernet, ProfiNet).
Able to work independently and in a team; good communication.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain electrical designs of automation solutions for production and test equipment.
Develop new production testing concepts and optimize existing ones.
Create supplier specifications from R&D test requirements.
Review supplier proposals covering control, electrical and mechanical design.
Create and implement security concepts.
Commission and qualify test equipment in production.
Coordinate with R&D, Production and suppliers.
Prepare calibration and maintenance manuals.
Coordinate procurement of operating equipment with external suppliers.
