Job summary

Congatec Inc. in Penang seeks an Electronics Hardware Engineer to contribute to product definitions and hardware design across life cycles.

You will work with Cadence Allegro, JIRA, and Arena to document schematics and layouts, perform HW bring-up, verify functions, and select components. English communication is essential; soldering skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering.
• Profound knowledge of x86 architecture.
• Experience with Cadence Allegro, JIRA and Arena.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Soldering skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support technical definition of products for planned projects (PRM team).
• Develop HW designs and redesign during product life cycle.
• HW bring-up and verification of correct function.
• HW related programming for CPLD/FPGA (no board or micro controller programming).
• Document designs with schematics and layouts and descriptive documentation about the developed HW product.
• Select components based on documents and tests including second source components and other alternatives.
• Consider manufacturability and testability (DFM/DFT) as per strategy.
• Manage documents in systems (Arena, Cadence Allegro) over the life cycle.
• Analyze and solve product issues during life cycle.

Job description

• Support technical definition of products for planned projects (PRM team)
• Development of HW designs including redesign during product life cycle
• HW bring-up and verification of the correct function
• HW related programming e.g. for CPLD, FPGA, special function controllers (no board or micro controller programming)
• Put products into operations such as prototypes and pilots and testing against specification
• Create relevant documents needed to document designs such as schematics and layout with the relevant SW-programs and descriptive documentation about the developed HW product
• Selection of suitable components based on documents and tests including second source components and other alternative components
• Consideration of manufacture and test ability (according strategy), DFC, DFL and incorporate requested changes according to DFM, DFT
• Manage documents in the systems (such as Arena, Cadence Allegro) over the whole life cycle
• Analyze and solve product issues during life cycle

Profile:

• University degree in electrical engineering or similar
• Profound knowledge of x86 architecture
• Experience with tools such as Cadence Allegro (Schematic, Layout), JIRA and Arena
• Soldering skills would be an advantage
• Good level of spoken and written English
