Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Penang, Bayan Lepas is seeking an expert digital hardware engineer to lead and design hardware for test and measurement instruments. You will work on digital, analog and mixed-signal systems and drive cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and software teams.

Responsibilities include leading system hardware design, high-speed interfaces, and architecture definition while promoting reusable design practices and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Understanding and experience in full product development cycle.
• Experience in hardware and software system integration.
• Knowledge of embedded system design and operation.
• Experience with FPGA design tools (Modelsim/QuestaSim, Vivado, Quartus).
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills; able to work in a team.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Job description

As the expert digital hardware engineer within the product development team, you are responsible to design

and lead the development team in hardware (digital, analog and mixed signal) design for Keysight test & measurement instrument. Design activities involving in microprocessor and microcontroller base system

design, industrial standard bus (PCI-E, USB, LAN, etc) and local bus(SPI, I2C, etc) design.

You are expected to have knowledge in using CPLD and FPGA design and involving in high speed digital logic

design. In addition, the power supplies and analog circuit design and troubleshooting knowledge are advantages for the job. You are required to work closely with mechanical, software (application and

embedded) engineers within the development team to define and optimize the hardware system design to

maximize the performance and quality with minimum cost.

Typical activities require for this job are

• Well verse in latest technology trends and development, involving in product platform roadmap
• Knowledge in understanding customer applications and provide optimum instrument hardware
• design.
• Good multi-disciplines (HW, SW, FW, ME) development knowledge and responsible to design
• and lead the development team in developing the overall instrument system.
• Leading the design team in system hardware and software integration
• Conduct investigation and feasibility study during the early stage of PLC.
• Develop and define instrument system architecture according to product specifications and scopes.
• Develop hardware design document to promote consistent design practices and process.
• Promote good design practice and optimize reusable design block.
• Establish, refine and improve hardware design process.
• Understand software management system and practice proper documentation revision control.
